We are librarians who, having worked in a diversity of library types and sizes, witness across all of them hesitation from our colleagues and staff in being true to our profession’s core values in their daily practices. We became librarians to improve the lives of our neighbors through our work – which requires our profession start walking its talk.

Eli Guinnee believes that library core values, like intellectual freedom and social justice, aren’t something extra that we do, but must be a part of the culture of every library, no matter how small.

Margo Gustina loves making complicated things clear and actionable. She hopes Hooray for _____! helps people all over library land be less intimidated by the tricky business of libraries.
